A 200-year-old merchant's house that's stayed in the same family for seven generations, Tan Ky shows how Hoi An's traders lived and worked when the port was booming. The design blends Vietnamese, Japanese and Chinese ideas: a narrow shopfront opening back to a courtyard, dark hardwood columns inlaid with mother-of-pearl, and a rear door that once opened straight onto the river for loading boats. Family members still live upstairs and often explain the flood marks on the walls from decades of rising water. It's one of the Old Town ticket's heritage houses and among the best preserved.
