Dragon Bridge

Da Nang's showpiece: a 666m bridge shaped like a golden dragon arcing over the Han River, lit up after dark and central to the city's identity. The headline is the weekend show — Saturday and Sunday nights at 9pm the dragon's head breathes real fire and then water, and the crowds pack the pavements and the riverbank to watch. The rest of the week it's simply a striking, colour-changing crossing best seen on an evening stroll along the river. It's free, it's public, and it's the easiest bit of Da Nang spectacle to catch. Get there early for a spot near the head.
