The highest point on the Son Tra Peninsula, marked by a giant statue of two sages bent over a stone chessboard — Ban Co means 'chessboard'. The drive up is half the fun: a steep, winding road through jungle where monkeys often cross the tarmac. At the top you get a full sweep over Da Nang, the coast and the mountains, best in the clear light of early morning before the haze builds. A small cafe serves coffee at the summit. Go by motorbike or car; the last stretch is too steep for scooters carrying two. No entry fee.
