The beaches around the Son Tra Peninsula are Da Nang's wilder shore — coves tucked below the forested headland, calmer and less developed than the city strip. Some are easy to reach off the coast road, others need a short scramble, and the reward is clear water, quiet sand and the green mountain rising straight behind you. Snorkelling is decent on the calmer days. There are few facilities out here, so it's a pack-your-own affair. If you're already up on the peninsula for Lady Buddha or the viewpoints, these beaches are the natural place to cool off. Free to use.
