A mountain national park between Da Nang and Hue, rising from the coast to a cool 1,450m summit that once held a French hill station. Bach Ma is the region's best nature escape: rainforest trails, the multi-tier Do Quyen waterfall, birdlife, and a 'Five Lakes' walk to swim in clear mountain pools. The old summit road can be driven or ridden, and the air up top is a genuine relief from the coastal heat. It's a full day out and better with a guide or a hired jeep for the steep road. A modest entry fee at the gate.
